International Day of Yoga and Opening of Jaffna Duraiyappa Stadium
International Day of Yoga has been celebrated on 18th of June, 2016 at Duraiyappa Stadium in Jaffna. HE President Maithripala Sirisena was participated in this event. HE Prime Minister of India Mr.Narendra Modi addressed from Delhi through Video Conferencing. Yoga has been demonstrated to around 8000 students who came from Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu, Vavuniya and Mannar Districts. In this occasion, Duraiyappa Stadium which was renovated by the Government of India has been ceremonially handed over to the people of Jaffna. Provincial Ministers and Heads of Department of the Northern Province have also been participated in this event.
