MODEL THAIPONGAL FESTIVAL
National Youth Services Council (NYSC) organized a Model Thaipongal festival under the sponsorship of Northern Provincial Council and conducted at ABEL Technical College, Vaddukoddai on 10 of January 2016. The Minister of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and Cultural Affairs Hon.S.B. Navinna, State Minister of Children Affairs Hon.(Mrs.) Vijayakala Mahesvaran and Governor of Northern Provincial Council Hon.H.M.G.S Palihakkara participated in this function.
Other distinguished guests Directer General of NYSC Mr. Krandika Weliyange, Secretary to the Governor,NP Mr. L.Ilaangovan and Secretary of Ministry of Education, Cultural affairs, sports and Youth affairs, NP Mr.R.Raveenthiran also participated in this function. 500 youths from southern part of Sri Lanka participated in this event with north youths. It was organized to share their cultural values among the youths.
